Sell 90% Silver Quarters in Las Vegas | 90% Silver Quarter Buyer

The United States Mint produced 90% silver coins in honor of some great historical value that has impacted many lives worldwide. Historically, most coins minted in the U.S. consisted of 90% silver and 10% copper. Specifically, a silver quarter contains 0.18084 troy ounce of pure silver. It was before 1965 when this phase of coin production became prominent in the United States. The durable yet attractive silver coins became one of the most sought after coins with its given silver content and cost of production below its face value.

90% Silver Quarter Value

How much worth your silver quarter gets depends on the condition of the coin and where it was primarily made. Usually, the famous Bicentennial quarters from 1776 to 1976 are worth $5 to $10 in Mint State. But this can still change if the market and pricing trends of silver go up and down.

In order to get a straightforward calculation of the melt value of your silver quarter, you will have to compare it to the current spot price of silver. Basically, a 90% silver quarter contains 0.18084 troy oz of fine silver. However, if you have a silver quarter that was made before 1930, it is likely to have a higher collectible value such as the Standing Liberty silver quarter.

Sell Famous 90% Silver Quarter

One famous silver coin is the 90% silver Washington Quarter. This weighs 6.25 grams in total, of which 5.625 grams of it is silver. Originally designed by sculptor John Flanagan and minted from 1932 to 1964, this well-known quarter depicted the head of Washington facing left with “Liberty” above the head, the date below, and “In God We Trust” in the left field. This silver quarter’s reverse design features an eagle with wings perching on a bundle of arrows framed by two olive branches. Washington quarters in 90% silver were also minted and produced in 1976 for the United States Bi-Centennial.

Overview

Dimes, quarters, half dollars, and dollars in different designs were produced with 90% silver at that time. However, this production of coins made from 90% silver content ceased in 1965. It is the so-called landmark year for the U.S. Mint. This was when Public Law 88-36 was passed by Congress, providing that the amount of silver in coins be reduced from 90% to 40% silver. Then, in 1970, most coins containing any silver at all were stopped from production and circulation as decided by the Treasury of the United States.

Truly, 90% silver quarters as uncirculated coins in the United States make themselves more valuable than a circulated silver quarter, not because of their denomination but of their silver content.
